Looking to Jesus

As Iron Sharpens Iron

God uses Christians to grow Christians. As Proverbs 17:17 says "As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another." As Paul instructed Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:2 "What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." God wants His people engaged in each other's growth in Christ.

It is a tragedy of the modern day Church that people go mentorless. Some think it an option and some are afraid to try. We need tutors, teachers, Christ coaches like we need to breath. It's essential to growth in Christlikeness. We must find a way to link up boldly and interdependently. The health and multiplication of Christ's blood-bought and Spirit-indwelt Church depends on believers doing what believers are called to be and do for one another.

The Word of God is clear and the world is dying to see what God will do when His people link up to help each other focus on Jesus in their lives. Everyone needs to find, and be, a mentor.
