1 Peter reads as sweet medicine for doubting, wavering, suffering souls. It gives assurance and comfort in Christ and a path out of the doldrums where we lose hope or sight of our ultimate reward in heaven. The Holy Spirit sweeps away the oppressive overcast clouds hanging over hearts weighed down with worry, doubt, and even despair.

Jesus has the answers and the absolution you are starving for. Jesus speaks peace to your soul. Rest in Him. "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." (1 Peter 2:24) All I can say is Wow. I am awestruck by the substitutionary atonement and justification by faith in Christ alone. Everything changes in light of this. Our hope stands secure. Eternal security and assurance spells death to harassing earthly doubts and fears.
