God’s Truth for Trying Times - 4/13/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: John 20:30-31

“Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John‬ ‭20:30-31‬)

CONSIDER: Isn’t it interesting that not everything Jesus did is recorded in the Bible. And isn’t it interesting that the reason that what was written in John’s Gospel was that we would believe that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah, promised deliverer), the son of God (God almighty, God incarnate), and that believing we would have life (salvation, eternal security) in his name. Life in his name means life according to who He is, and what He did and does.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY:‬‬ Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
