God’s Truth for Trying Times - 5/22/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: Isaiah‬ ‭49:4-5

“But I said, "I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely my right is with the Lord, and my recompense with my God." And now the Lord says, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him; and that Israel might be gathered to him— for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord, and my God has become my strength—”
‭‭(Isaiah‬ ‭49:4-5‬)

CONSIDER: Isaiah 49 speaks of the Lord's servant, the promised deliver who would suffer for the sins of his people, bringing salvation. Though seemingly rejected, His labor is not in vain. His mission will be successful. Even though it seems like His people do not listen or understand or repent. Praise God the gospel is victorious!

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY:‬‬ Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
