God’s Truth for Trying Times - 1/14/22

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: Ephesians 1:20-21

that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. [Ephesians 1:20-21 ESV] 

CONSIDER: Jesus Christ is exalted above all because he is God over all. The Father raised Jesus from the dead and put him in the place of authority. The triune God reigns over all supreme. And the name of Jesus is above every name that is named forever. The hope of every true believer is fixed in Jesus Christ.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
