God’s Truth for Trying Times - 1/17/22

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: Ephesians 2:4-7 

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. [Ephesians 2:4-7 ESV]

CONSIDER: God intervenes in the life of his chosen ones and because of the richness of his mercy and his great love makes us alive together with Christ. It is solely by grace that we are saved, and spiritually we are raised and seated with Christ, and we are his forever such that he will show his grace and kindness towards us forever. We exist to glorify God and enjoy him forever, and God will forever shower us with his gracious and merciful kindness.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
