God’s Truth for Trying Times - 1/23/22

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: Ephesians 2:17-18 

And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. [Ephesians 2:17-18 ESV]

CONSIDER: We say "the ground is level at the foot of the cross." There is no distinction between anyone God chooses to save for his own. Every true believer has access to the triune God, because Christ's finished work at the cross proclaims peace with God for repentant sinners. What grace!

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
