God’s Truth for Trying Times - 1/4/22

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 Timothy 6:20-21 

O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called "knowledge," for by professing it some have swerved from the faith. Grace be with you. [1 Timothy 6:20-21 ESV]

CONSIDER: Paul is so concerned for Timothy's heart, that he would guard the gospel and avoid false words and false teaching. He wants him to stay on the straight and narrow and not swerve from the faith. We stay on the path only by the grace of God.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
