God’s Truth for Trying Times - 10/20/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

"But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14-17‬)

CONSIDER: To stay focused on Jesus Christ and Him crucified, risen, and coming again is what it means to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. It’s what it means to fix your eyes on Jesus. It’s what it means to treasure Christ above all earthly good. To abide in Christ and His teaching is to dwell in the movable rock that is Christ and love and obey the Word He has spoken, not turning from it to the right or the left. Dear Christian, stay fixed on the sweet name and Word of Jesus. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly. Let the Word shape your thoughts, words, actions, and responses. Living for God’s glory and the good of others will drive you to say no to some things and yes to other things and always, always cling to Christ. When your soul is saturated with the soul-satisfying Word of our sovereign Savior, you are a sweet savor to all who cross your path. Strive for that dear friends.
