God’s Truth for Trying Times - 11/8/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 3 John 1:1-2

“The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth. Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.”
‭‭3 John‬ ‭1:1-2‬ ‭ESV

CONSIDER: This is simply one sweet salutation. There is a lot of love here. John writes to a beloved friend that he loves in truth. The love is real and strong and God has bound their hearts together. He wants all to go well for him and for him to be well and especially spiritually so. This is the heart desire of every loving Christian for their family in Christ.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
