God’s Truth for Trying Times - 12/12/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 Timothy 4:11-13 

Command and teach these things. Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. [1 Timothy 4:11-13 ESV]

CONSIDER: Christian leaders must refuse to be downgraded because of youthfulness, but should seek to be a model of good deeds. Men called to preach the gospel must preach and teach it strongly and give attention to the public reading of the inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
