God’s Truth for Trying Times - 12/21/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 Timothy 5:14-15 

So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the adversary no occasion for slander. For some have already strayed after Satan. [1 Timothy 5:14-15 ESV]

CONSIDER: Doing what God wants is always the best route to take and it leads to a solid testimony for the gospel. The last thing we would ever want to do is stray from the path of truth into the way of error. By God's grace and for his glory may every believer humbly follow Christ.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
