God’s Truth for Trying Times - 12/25/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 Timothy 5:21-22

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without prejudging, doing nothing from partiality. Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure. [1 Timothy 5:21-22 ESV]

CONSIDER: What a beautiful passage of scripture that reminds us that we live in the presence of God and are kept by him, and that we are to live pure lives to please Jesus. Jesus came to save people from their sins and to purify for himself a people zealous for good deeds, that would point others to him.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
