God’s Truth for Trying Times - 2/2/22

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: Ephesians 4:4-6 

There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call-- one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. [Ephesians 4:4-6 ESV]

CONSIDER: Seven ones! Our unity is blood-bought and we cherish it. The only God, the holy God, has called us into fellowship and made us one. God is over all, he is sovereign. He is through all, he is at work to do his sovereign will. He is in all, in every believer, indwelling and empowering our lives and ministry. Our one faith is in our one Lord Jesus Christ, and we are baptized into the body of Christ by the Spirit of God, and this is cause for great rejoicing. It is why we can serve him.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY: Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
