God’s Truth for Trying Times - 6/14/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 Thessalonians 2:13

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. [1 Thessalonians 2:13 ESV] 

CONSIDER: This is one of the best things the Thessalonians did, after they turned to God from idols, they received the word of God as the word of God that does its work in believers. It was obvious to them that this was not from man. They rejected man's wisdom and clung to God's wisdom.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
