God’s Truth for Trying Times - 6/6/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5

For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. [1 Thessalonians 1:4-5 ESV] 

CONSIDER: There are evidences of God's electing grace in the lives and ministries of those who follow Christ. The power of God working through us, the Holy Spirit producing fruit, and the conviction that we are to serve Christ with everything he has given us.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
