God’s Truth for Trying Times - 6/7/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 2 Corinthians 2:14-17

“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14-17‬)

CONSIDER: To those who are being saved the fragrance from our lives is life. To those who are perishing the fragrance of our life is death. They are convicted by the gospel truth and they realize they are under the wrath of God. But they are unable to move their hearts until and unless God moves in their heart and gives new birth. Pray for the salvation of every person that you come in contact with. Then speak to them the words of this life.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY:‬‬ Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
