God’s Truth for Trying Times - 7/27/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

“Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers.”

‭‭(2 Timothy‬ ‭2:14)‬‬

CONSIDER: Preaching is a ministry of reminding. Really, growing in Christ is a process of being reminded by God in the word, and by fellow Christians who care, about how important God’s word is, and how we are to stick to what it says and base our worldview on it. We have got to let God’s word drive the conversation and shape our lives. Otherwise, if we fight about man’s words, we will just be engaging in destructive behavior. God’s word does good.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
