God’s Truth for Trying Times - 7/12/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:14-17‬ 

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy‬ ‭3:14-17‬)

CONSIDER: When you decide to serve your family the Word of God and prayer, and understand how powerful God's Word is - able to save and sanctify - you also know what it is useful for: teaching or instructing in the faith. God uses the Word in the lives of His people for His glory. What a privilege to share it with others and grow together in Christ.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
