God’s Truth for Trying Times - 7/14/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 2 Thessalonians 2:3-5

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? [2 Thessalonians 2:3-5 ESV]

CONSIDER: There are a series of promised and predicted events that God has said will come about before the return of Christ. These are things that will happen because God says they will happen. No matter what sinful man says against Christ or against what he says in the word, God's word stands.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
