God’s Truth for Trying Times - 7/16/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:4-5‬ ‭‬‬

“As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.”

CONSIDER: Paul remembers Timothy’s tears. Where did they come from? Probably from having to depart from him. He really wanted to see him and that would fill him with joy. He remembered the sincere faith of Timothée that first world and his grandmother and his mother. What a testimony to know there is sincerity of faith.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
