God’s Truth for Trying Times - 7/28/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

‭‭(2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬)

CONSIDER: We are to study hard and exert great energy seeking to be pleasing to God, with no need to be frustrated or lacking when tested by God, because we rightly and appropriately understand and apply God’s word. This is the God-dependent task of every faithful Christian leader, and is to be the aspiration of every sincere Christian. Doing what pleases God by sticking close to the word and making sure that we not only know what it says, but understand the meaning in context, and seek to live it humbly.
