God’s Truth for Trying Times - 7/8/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 2 Thessalonians 1:1-2

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. [2 Thessalonians 1:1-2 ESV] 

CONSIDER: What a gift the Holy Spirit gives the church in the New Testament letters. Beloved Believers loved by God and one another, encouraging one another in the faith. Grace and peace are a common salutation. Because of God's unmerited favor, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
