God’s Truth for Trying Times - 8/15/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”

‭‭(2 Timothy‬ ‭4:3-4)

CONSIDER: It’s obvious that not everyone will be aligned with the truth. Many will just go after exactly what they want no matter what God’s Word says. These are the people that you need to watch out for. They are driven by self-centered desires not what God wants. They are those who close their ears and wander off the path.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
