God’s Truth for Trying Times - 8/9/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: ‬ ‭‬‬2 Timothy‬ ‭3:6-9‬

“For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.”

‭‭(2 Timothy‬ ‭3:6-9‬)

CONSIDER: It is a dangerous thing to oppose truth. People that oppose truth are corrupted and do not belong in the family of God. The good thing is that counterfeits will be revealed, and just like those in the past, people will find them out. God knows who belongs to him. 

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
