God’s Truth for Trying Times - 9/24/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 John 2:8 

At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. [1 John 2:8 ESV]

CONSIDER: Christ fulfills every promise in scripture and his appearing signaled the fulfillment of God's great promises on which his commands are founded. Everything God commands is true and worthy of our glad obedience.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
