God’s Truth for Trying Times - 9/29/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 John 2:20-22 

But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. [1 John 2:20-22 ESV]

CONSIDER: The anointing that believers have is the filling and indwelling of the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all the truth which means that we are able to understand scripture, the Holy Spirit illumines our minds so that we grasp the clear truth. And therefore we keep believing, he perseveres us, and we completely acknowledge who God is.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
