God’s Truth for Trying Times - 9/7/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: James 4:15-16

Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that." As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. [James 4:15-16 ESV] 

CONSIDER: If you do not seek God's will above our own, it is prideful and arrogant, which is essentially evil. That means it is good to seek God's will, so that is something we should be seeking all the time. 

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
