Discussion Questions:

Matthew 25:14-30

  1. Does every Christian really need to have something they're doing for the Kingdom of God? (1 Cor 12:4-7; 1 Pet 4:10)
  2. Why are you serving in any of the capacities you presently serve? When was the last time you did something purely for the joy of serving Jesus without any thought of recognition or repayment? How often are your motives for serving clean? How are you presently serving the Lord in organized ministries or organic settings? (Rom 12:9-13; Gal 6:10)
  3. If God is the rewarder, is it ever OK to honor Christ's servants? (Phil 2:29–30; 1 Thess 5:12-15)
  4. What if no one notices or thanks you for your service? (Col 3:23-24; Heb 6:10)
  5. Why should we serve Jesus? Why are we so fixated as a church on serving the Lord with everything we've got? (Phil 2:1-11; Mk 9:35)
