One Nation Against God Romans 10:16-21

May 19, 2019 Speaker: Mike Sciarra Series: Romans

Topic: Romans Passage: Romans 10:16–21

Discussion Questions:

  1. What is the nature of unbelief and what does it mean to disobey the Gospel? How does your desire to please God give you assurance of salvation? What proof and encouragement does the presence of the fruit of the Spirit in your life give?
  2. Whose unbelief are you in agony over and what are you able to do about it? Have you done much strategizing in terms of ways to reach them? How convinced are you that God has sent you to share the Gospel with them?
  3. According to Rom. 10:19 (and Eph. 2:1-10; Rom. 9:16, etc.) salvation is a sovereign gift from God that we don’t seek or ask for. How does that fit with or correct your view of salvation? How does it match up with what has already been explained in Romans regarding salvation? How does it fit with man’s absolute responsibility for his own sin and rejection of Christ in Romans 10?
  4. Describe the passion you feel for the souls of the lost. How does God’s patience and forbearance teach you and spur you on?
  5. If you are a Christian, think of your assurance of salvation and then think of your agony over those who do not have salvation. Why is it so important to go beyond praying for their salvation to actually telling them the Gospel truth? How can you go beyond praying to telling? How will you do that this week?
