Evidence of Election

Sermon Application Questions:

1. What does it mean to be loved by God? (Rom. 8:31–39) How are we ‘more than conquerors through him who loved us’? Why can nothing in all creation ‘separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord’?
2. Why is the doctrine of election so important to understand accurately as those beloved of God become more beloved to one another?
3. What is ‘a demonstration of the Spirit’s power’ (1 Cor. 2:4–5)?
4. What will the ‘day of the LORD’s wrath’ be like? (Zeph. 1:1–18; Matt. 25:31-46; 2 Pet. 3:1-13)
5. How has your life changed internally and externally since you have become a Christian? (1 Thess. 1:6-10)
6. Who in your spheres of influence knows that you are a Christian? Who does not know? Why is that? (1 Peter 3:13-17)
7. How can your life be distinguished from the life of an unbeliever?
