1. Why is our hope in Christ and not dependent on our feelings? (Col. 1:27; Heb. 6:18-20)
2. What kind of future hope did Old Testament believers have and how does Psalm 49 contrast the fate of the wicked with the hope of believers?
3. What confusion caused Paul to write about Christ’s return? How is it similar and different to the questions we have today? How does Romans 8:305–39 answer many of our concerns?‭‬‬
4. Read Acts 1:7-11. How is Christ’s return similar to His ascension?
5. What glorious and beautiful blessings belong to believers and what assurances do we have regarding what will happen when Christ returns?
6. Read 1 Cor. 15:35-58. How does the resurrection of the dead encourage us to yield ourselves fully to God’s work now?
7. Who in the narratives of Christ’s birth lived with the beautiful expectation of God’s promises being fulfilled (aka gospel hope)? How does hope anchor you so you can live confidently now?
