Sermon Application Questions:

1. Why is it so crucial for Christians to not only understand that God chose them before the foundation of the world and called them through the preaching of the gospel, but to respond by standing firm and holding to the truth of the word of God?
2. What unhelpful outcomes can result when we don’t hold on to biblical truth?
3. Why is Christian discernment so crucial and why do so many lack it? Why is it that so many people who think they have it don’t? How do you know if you are exercising biblical discernment?
4. Interact with the following: “Our theological convictions must not be a figment of our imagination or fabricated out of the confusing web of present conflicting times; they must be based on bedrock biblical truth, reflecting the powerful Providence of God, a firm resolve to reflect His glory, and reliance upon His sure promises.”
5. Why must the church be so focused on the Word of God? Why not just focus on God? Ps. 119:49-52
