Sermon Application Questions:
- Why is it so crucial for believers to be patient? Why is the farming motif a perfect corresponding metaphor?
- What do you make of a lack of patience, a lack of the fruit of the Spirit, being evidenced in a professing believer’s heart and life?
- Why is patience being connected to the return of Christ here?
- What is the significance of the “Judge” being “at the door”?
- Interact with this quote: “In a world overrun by impatient people trying to build their own dynasties, the confessing church must rely solely on the Lord Jesus Christ’s promises as they pertain to His imminent return.”
- Discuss the various Biblical aspects of the Lord’s return: promised, personal, bodily, visible, imminent. Why are they more important, though decidedly less juicy and argument inducing, than your preferred end times view?
