The large crowd stood in rapt silence at Solomon’s portico as the man born lame stood to his feet, healed in the name of and by the power of Jesus. Members of the seventy-one membered Sanhedrin (the ruling body of the Jews) were equally astonished at what they had just witnessed. Peter and John are arrested, held in custody over-night, then asked to explain the obvious miracle. Knowing that Peter and John had no formal education in rabbinical schools, the rulers were baffled by their boldness. The conclusion they reach was that Peter and John, over time, had taken on the courage and boldness of their teacher, Jesus Christ. Is it apparent to others that we are spending time with Jesus?
