Dust is What God Uses

"As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” When He had said these things He spit on the ground and made clay of the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And said to him, “Go wash in the pool of Siloam.” So he went and washed and came back seeing.’" John 9:5-7 KJV

I have good news today! God is in the business of using dust. He used dust to create lice in the third of the ten plagues upon the Egyptians. In the above New Testament verse Jesus uses dust mixed with his own saliva to make clay to anoint the eyes of the man born blind. The miracle healing power that opened his blind eyes was not in the clay, nor the water in the pool of Siloam, but in Him Who "is the light of the world," our blessed Savior. The trigger for the healing was the blind man's faith and obedience to a seemingly senseless command to go wash his face in a certain pool of water. Can you imagine his joy upon returning and clearly seeing the face of the One who had given him sight? We were once spiritually blind, but too now see.
