Knowing The Will Of God

"Be careful then how you live, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish(ignorant),but understanding what the Lord's will is." Eph. 5:15-18 NIV

The first words from Paul's lips upon meeting our resurrected Lord Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus were, "Lord, what would you have me to do?" Jesus quickly captures Paul's will as well as his heart. In a millisecond he knew the One whom he had persecuted he now must serve. God's general will "teaches us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lust, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world" (Titus 2:12 KJV). Our time on earth to serve the Lord may be short. Discovering and then doing the will of God should be our greatest pleasure. To do otherwise is to miss the full measure of God's blessing upon our lives.
