"Wherefore let him that thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall." 1 Cor. 10:12 NKJ

This is one of the most important warnings in God's word. Confidence is sorely needed in every walk of life, and to not have it makes living very difficult. Sadly, some people won't get out of bed without first looking at their horoscope for the day. Over-confidence (especially in the spiritual realm) can be as dangerous as a lack thereof because it has the air of invincibility which really makes the Christian more vulnerable. Standing firm and true to the Lord is so important for our testimony, but over-confidence can be the snare causing us to fall. Unfaltering confidence comes through being "strong in the Lord and the power of His might." Paul says it best in Phil. 1:6: "Being confident of this very thing that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
