Only Jesus Can Unwaste A Life
Don’t waste your life on trifling things; things destined to burn. Invest your energy, resources, gifts, and talents on eternally significant pursuits. The dividend payout is beyond comparison. Enjoy the fleeting moment, the day, your life, for what it is: a gift from God. Enjoy the seemingly random occurrence, the unforeseen blessing, and various trials.
Endure hardships, don’t escape them. As Jim Elliot said, “Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God”. If you’re following Jesus it’s because He chose you before time began to belong to Him and in His perfect time drew you to Himself. You believed the Gospel of God, the Father sent the Son to die in your place, paying the penalty for your sin. Jesus died for you, was buried, rose on the third day, appeared to many, ascended to the Father, and will return for His own one day.
And now for you every blessing, every moment, everything is a good gift from God to grow you in grace. If you’re not saved from the wrath of God against your sin, you’ve been granted common grace but you’re hurtling precariously towards a Christless eternity separated from God in constant torment. It won’t be pleasurable. Run now for refuge to the only Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He alone is worthy of your honor and praise. He alone saves. He alone can unwaste your life.
