God’s Truth for Trying Times - 5/29/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: Psalm 55:16-17

“But I call to God, and the Lord will save me. Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice.” (Psalm‬ ‭55:16-17‬)

CONSIDER: Every true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ has called out to God and God has saved them. The Psalmist is crying out to the triune God and saying I will continue to cry out all day long, because God hears me and answers me. This is the assurance of every believer. Pour out your heart to him today. Because of your relationship with God, you can have access to God all the time, you can come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. God hears the cries of his children.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?

PRAY:‬‬ Pray these verses to God as a prayer. Pour out your heart in praise to God. Pray for others. Present needs to Him.
