God’s Truth for Trying Times - 9/25/20

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: ‬Isaiah 32:6-8

For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the LORD, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink. As for the scoundrel--his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right. But he who is noble plans noble things, and on noble things he stands. (Isaiah 32:6-8)

CONSIDER: God knows the heart and he knows that the foolish speak foolishly and their hearts are just like bees, busy with inequity. They practice ungodliness. They tell lies about God. They do not help the poor. They deprive others of what they need. But they who are noble plans noble things, they do what is good, right, and true, wanting to please the Lord, following and obeying Jesus.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
