God’s Truth for Trying Times - 9/30/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 John 2:23-24 

No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. [1 John 2:23-24 ESV]

CONSIDER: The word of God abides and believers and believers believe the word of God and believe who God says he is and does what he says he does, it gives proof that they truly have been born of God. Anyone who denies who God is not saved. This is why we give out the gospel call to all, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Believe that he died in your place, substituting himself for you, a lost sinner. The perfect son of God took the punishment for our sins upon himself and died on the cross and was buried and rose on the third day and he is coming back for all who believe in him.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
