God’s Truth for Trying Times - 6/10/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: 1 Thessalonians 2:3-4

For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive, but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. [1 Thessalonians 2:3-4 ESV] 

CONSIDER: Paul, Sylvanus, and Timothy were fixed on pleasing God not man, and even though they were being accused of selfishly serving, they were actually being faithful servants with no care for their own reputation.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
