God’s Truth for Trying Times - 8/29/21

We need God’s truth in trying times. Read the Scripture passage, think about what it is saying, then pray; by yourself or with your household. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly (Col. 3:16).

READ: James 3:17-18

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. [James 3:17-18 ESV] 

CONSIDER: If you are actively striving for peace and sanctification, the wisdom of God will show itself in your life in many great ways. You won't have to work on it or try to make it happen, as you yield to God's working it will show.

THINK: What does this declare about God? What are God’s people being called to do? What assurance is given? How does the Word of God transform our hearts and lives and relationships?
