Repentance is Heart Work
Repentance is a gracious gospel gift (2 Cor. 7:9-11), an expected response (Luke 15:1-7), and gospel-driven repentance is a Spirit-enabled way of life fostered in Christ-centered community (Acts 20:17-24).
Repentance is a recurring attitude of the heart that jump starts waning humility. It doesn't think more highly of itself because it thinks biblically, in a gospel-driven, grace-saturated, God-glorifying mindset that keeps coming to the cross, relying on the shed blood of Christ. Repentance is walking in the light.
