"No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other, You cannot serve God and mammon." Luke 16:13

Think about the problems a servant would surely have trying to serve two masters: scheduling conflicts, time management, and conflicting demands. It is much like trying to serve two bosses and falling a natural victim to a divided loyalty and, ultimately, preferring one over the other. It will not work in the work place nor in the spiritual realm. Jesus says it is not possible to serve God and material things. Many have tried and failed. The Bible also warns us about the deceitfulness of riches. Money can be a good servant, but it is a terrible master.
