"The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish." Proverbs 10:28

Those who are righteous are so by faith. The righteousness of Christ has been imputed (granted, given, infused into our souls) by God. The hope we have is aimed at what God in His righteousness has provided and promised. Joy results because God produces it in our hearts. We are elated over His choosing us and appointing us to eternal life. We are thrilled to our soul's depth by His matchless mercy and grace that holds back His wrath and offers us life. Those who do not believe will perish ala John 3:16-18. They have no solid ground on which to stand, only the sinking quicksand of false hope. Our hope in Christ does not disappoint.
