Adding To Takes Away

"Moreover brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received and in which you stand. For I delivered to you first of all that which I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures." 1Cor.15:1, 3; NKJ

There is a trend today among preachers and book writers to make more of the gospel than what is in Paul's simple definition given here in this passage. Jesus died for our sins; He was buried, and He arose on the third day. All according to the scriptures taught in the Old Testament, confirmed in the New Testament, and by the eye witnesses to the facts of history. Adding volumes under the umbrella of these simple but profound truths, I believe, takes away from the gospel. Paul in Galatians 1:11 gives a disclaimer that none of the facts of the gospel were according to man, "but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ." Is what you believe and espouse according to the scripture?
