Always On Solid Ground

"The Lord God is my strength: He will make my feet like deer's feet, and will make me walk on my high hills." Habakkuk 3:19

Strength is a commonly used word in the Bible. It is most frequently used in the book of referring to God's strength, or man's lack of it. In our serving the Lord, who of us has not at some time exhausted our own strength? We came from dust, and sometimes we feel like dust, inert, without any means of propulsion, and our gas tank on empty. Habakkuk declares God is his strength and defines how so. "He will make my feet like deer's feet." Deer have split hoofs, enabling them to keep the full surface of their feet on the ground regardless of the grade or terrain. God being our strength enables us also to keep our feet, at all times, firmly on the ground as we serve Him.
