"You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Pet. 3:17-18 NKJ

In this his second book, Peter warns believers of false teachers who had invaded the churches of Asia Minor. He is deeply concerned the persecuted believers do not become weak and led astray by false doctrine. Our adversary the Devil, through his false teachers, always has an alternate view of a text that contradicts the clear teaching of the Bible that can lead one into error. Steadfastness and discernment between truth and error come from absorbing ourselves in the Word of God. Feeding consistently on God's Word is the primary means of remaining steadfast. Don't neglect it!
